For 58 years, Helias High School has been an essential and vibrant part of Jefferson City offering a superior Catholic education to area students. Helias, operating in the traditions of the LaSalle Christian Brothers and the School Sisters of Notre Dame, emphasizes the spiritual, moral, academic, physical, and social growth and development of our students while providing a safe, nurturing, disciplined, structured environment in which serious students thrive. Our goal is to prepare our students to be successful in their chosen field of endeavor by challenging them to develop a durable ethical foundation, the strong work and study habits necessary to flourish in our demanding academic curriculum and competitive extra-curricular programs, and the self-discipline to understand priorities and live a responsible life. While 96% of our graduates go on to further education, we pride ourselves in offering courses on multiple levels in order to serve our diverse group of learners.
In 2011 the Helias ACT average score, with virtually all of our graduates taking the test, was 23.9, 2.3 points higher than the state average. The top 20 graduates in the class of 2011 attained an average ACT score of 32.05.
Helias Catholic is an open enrollment collee preparatory school. Though our incoming eighth graders take a placement test, no one is refused admission based upon academic challenges or personal abilities. And while we emphasize that we are a Catholic school, students of all faiths are welcome at Helias!
